IMPACT REPORT:

Ukraine Conflict

A humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.

When Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022, it sparked the biggest conflict in Europe since WWII, and a true humanitarian crisis in the country. From citizens navigating power outages and property damage from explosions, to refugees fleeing the country for safety, EAF and our Fund Partners were there to provide assistance.

Measurable relief.

Together with our Fund Partners, we worked to ensure financial assistance reached those in need.

Making a direct, positive impact.

Emergency Assistance Foundation was committed to helping as many impacted individuals and families as possible. In addition to the financial assistance distributed through our existing funds – sponsored by our Fund Partners to help their employees in need – we also launched the Ukraine Direct Help Fund, a standalone fund that allowed organizations and individuals the opportunity to donate, thereby directly putting money into the hands of those affected by this crisis.

I donated to the Ukraine Direct Help Fund because I believe that in times of crisis, it's our duty to stand with those who are suffering. The people of Ukraine are facing unimaginable hardships, and by contributing, I hope to provide a glimmer of hope in their darkest hours. Solidarity knows no borders, and together, we can make a difference.

In their own words.

Below are some first-hand stories from individuals who received grants in the aftermath of the conflict in Ukraine.

“I live in Ukraine near the border of Russia, which is currently a war zone. I applied for a grant because my autistic child needs expensive medicine, and this past month, my house was damaged after explosive shelling. Now, we need to renovate the house so that we can continue to live in it.

With this grant, I will be able to repair our house and get ready for the winter without having to sacrifice my child’s medical care. Thank you very much for your help, you are all very good people that help others in need!”

-Kateryna, Grant Recipient

“I’ve experienced a financial hardship because of the war in Ukraine. My mom lives in Ukraine and I had to help her leave when the war started. It was extremely helpful to get a grant. It took a lot of effort and financial resources to help my mom leave Ukraine and relocate to safety. I want to thank everyone who contributed to the fund. You helped my family go through this uneasy time with less stress. I’m immensely grateful!”

-Viktoria, Grant Recipient

“As a result of the military invasion of Ukraine, my family had to leave their home and evacuate to the territory of another country. Once we safely arrived in the new country, we needed to rent housing and buy food and other necessities. Thanks to this grant, my family was able to obtain some sort of stability at an uncertain and scary time. I am infinitely grateful to those who have donated to the relief fund. This is an important help and support for those who find themselves in difficult situations. Thank you for your support and care.”
