In early August 2023, a series of wildfires broke out in the U.S. state of Hawaii, predominantly on the island of Maui. The wind-driven fires prompted evacuations, caused widespread damage, killing at least 115 people and leaving at least 1000 others missing in the town of Lahaina, Hawaii. The path to recovery for those affected will be long and difficult - immediately, EAF and our Fund Partners sprung into action to get relief into the hands of those impacted.

Emergency Assistance Foundation was committed to helping as many impacted individuals and families as possible. In addition to the financial assistance distributed through our existing funds – sponsored by our Fund Partners to help their employees in need – we also launched the Maui Wildfires Relief Fund, a standalone fund that allowed organizations and individuals the opportunity to donate, thereby directly putting money into the hands of those affected by these devastating fires.
I donated to the Maui Wildfires Relief Fund because Maui holds a special place in my heart. It's not just a beautiful island; it's a community of people who have been affected by these devastating fires. It's our duty to support our neighbors when they're in need, and this is my way of saying, 'I'm here for you, Maui.' Together, we can help them rebuild and restore the island's beauty.
